Article II. BINGO HALLS |
§ 18-11. Definitions.
For the purpose of this article, the following terms shall have the following meanings, to-wit:
Bingo shall mean a game played for prizes with cards bearing numbers or other designations, five or more in one line, the holder covering numbers, as objects, similarly numbered, are drawn from a receptacle and the game being won by the person who first covers a previously designated arrangement of numbers on such a card.
Bingo hall shall mean any and all premises offered for the purpose of conducting charitable games of chance, such as bingo.
Charitable gaming organization shall mean a nonprofit board, association, corporation, or other organization who is domiciled in this state, qualified with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service for an exemption from federal income tax, and has obtained a license, pursuant to the provisions of City of Lafayette Ordinance No. O-2792, as amended by City of Lafayette Ordinance No. O-3989, to conduct specific games of chance in the city.
