§ 26-437. Enforcement of cross-connection regulations.

  • (a)

    Any consumer or other person who fails to comply with the latest revision of the International Plumbing Code, Backflow/Cross-Connection Control Requirements Sections as adopted by the Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code Council (LSUCCC), or who fails to comply with the additional requirements of this section or any notice or order made hereunder shall be in violation of this section.

    (b)

    The cross-connection control and backflow prevention program shall be administered through the Lafayette Consolidated Government Cross-Connection Control and Backflow Prevention Policy and Procedures document, adopted through the ordinance from which this section derives.

    (c)

    The director of utilities, or designee, shall administer this program. The director of utilities, or designee, is further authorized and empowered to make such amendments to the cross-connection control and backflow prevention policy and procedures as the director of utilities or designee may deem necessary or desirable, including, but not limited to, such amendments as may be required to comply with the future changes in applicable laws or regulations.
