§ 42-64. Emergency medical service advisory board.

  • (a)

    The emergency medical service advisory board shall consist of five members. All members must be registered voters and domiciled in the parish at the time of his appointment and he must remain a registered voter and domiciled in Lafayette Park during his term of office.

    (b)

    One member of the board shall be the direct appointment of the city-parish president. One member of the board shall be the direct appointment of the mayors of the Town of Broussard, City of Carencro, Town of Duson, City of Scott and Town of Youngsville, meeting collectively and jointly. One member of the board shall be the president of the Lafayette Parish Medical Society or his designee. Two members of the board shall be the direct appointments of the city-parish consolidated council, as a whole. One of the appointments by the council shall be a minority as that term is defined in R.S. 38:2233.2.

    (c)

    The board shall hold hearings on applications for permits and make determinations as to the issuance of certificates of necessity as provided hereinbelow.
