§ 62-51. Unlawful sales to minors.
(a)
Defined. Unlawful sales to minors is the selling, or otherwise delivering for value by anyone over the age of 17 of:
(1)
Any intoxicating or spirituous liquors to any person under the age of 21; or
(2)
Any firearm or other instrumentality customarily used as a dangerous weapon, to any person under the age of 18.
(b)
Lack of knowledge of the minor's age shall not be a defense.
(c)
Prohibited.
(1)
Whoever commits unlawful sales to minors, as defined by subsection (a)(1), shall be fined not more than $100.00 or imprisoned for not more than six months, or both.
(2)
Whoever commits unlawful sales to minors, as defined by subsection (a)(2), shall be fined not more than $300.00 or imprisoned for not more than six months, or both.
