§ 78-32. Declaration of public necessity.

  • Upon the request of the city-parish president, the city-parish consolidated council may declare a public project a public necessity by the adoption of an ordinance to that effect, and in that ordinance may authorize the acquisition by the city-parish consolidated government of the rights-of-way and other property rights requisite to the construction of the project on an amicable basis, or through the use of the expropriation process if necessary.
