§ 82-807. Conduct and supervision over games; right of entry of officers.

  • The city council shall have and exercise control and supervision over all games of chance held, operated and conducted under such license, to the end that the same are fairly held, operated and conducted in accordance with the provisions of such license, the regulations promulgated by the director of administration or his designee and the provisions of this article and R.S. 33:4861.1 et seq, governing the holding, operating and conducting of the same. The director of administration or his designee shall have the power and authority to suspend any license issued by the City of Lafayette and/or revoke the same. In the event the director of administration or his designee suspends and or revokes any licenses so issued, the licensee shall have the right to a hearing to be held before the city council at a regular or special meeting. In the event the licensee desires such a hearing, the licensee shall notify the city clerk in writing by registered or certified mail, return receipt requested, of his said desire. At least 15 days prior to the meeting of the city council at which the licensee shall be entitled to be heard upon the reason or reasons for the suspension and/or revocation, the city clerk shall notify the licensee in writing, mailed to the licensee at the address shown on the license by registered or certified mail, return receipt requested, of the date and time of the said meeting of the city council.
