§ 86-7. Hit and run driving.

  • (a)

    Defined. Hit and run driving is the intentional failure of the driver of a vehicle involved in or causing any traffic crash to stop such vehicle at the scene of the traffic crash, to give his identity and to render reasonable aid. To give his identity, for the purpose of this section, shall mean that the driver of any vehicle involved in any traffic crash shall give his name, address and the license number of his vehicle, or shall promptly report the traffic crash to the police.

    (b)

    Prohibited, penalty. Whoever commits hit and run driving shall be fined not more than $500.00, or imprisoned for not more than six months, or both.
