§ 94-56. Authority of director to execute certain contracts associated with provision of telecommunications service.

  • The director and/or the Lafayette City-Parish Consolidated Government is/are authorized to enter into contracts or agreements associated with the provision of telecommunications service (as defined in section 94-1) having one or more of the following characteristics or purposes:

    (1)

    Contracts for interconnection, co-location, joint use or pole attachment of any facilities of the system related to the provision of telecommunications service.

    (2)

    Contracts related to video programming.

    (3)

    Contracts for the purchase of products or services for potential resale related to the provision of telecommunications service, including, by way of illustration, but not by way of limitation, contracts for long distance, calling card, signaling system 7, caller ID with name, number porting, terminating traffic, access to various databases, operator, and directory services.

    (4)

    Contracts for access to the Internet backbone and other Internet related services including, by way of illustration, but not by way of limitation, American Registry for Internet Numbers, E-billing, call center services, spam and virus filtering services.

    (5)

    Contracts containing "commercially sensitive marketing information" as defined in La. R.S. 45:844.43(4).

    (6)

    Servitude agreements and bulk service agreements for access or service to multiple dwelling units or business premises.

    (7)

    Agreements, permits, and related applications for access or crossing of roads, water bodies, railroads, or their associated rights-of-way.
