§ 98-192. Private property tow charges.

The following provisions shall govern all charges which may be assessed for nonconsensual private property tows in the city and the unincorporated areas of the parish. No charges other than those authorized in this section may be assessed by any wrecker operator for nonconsensual private property tows.

(1)

Charges for private property wrecker and towing services shall be at a rate not to exceed $70.00, plus an additional $30.00 where circumstances make it necessary that the wrecker operator use a dolly in order to safely initiate and complete a nonconsensual private property tow.

(2)

Wrecker operators shall provide the appropriate law enforcement agency with the following information regarding any vehicle towed from private property:

a.

The name, address and telephone number of the wrecker operator.

b.

The place to which the vehicle is to be towed.

c.

The description and license number of the vehicle.

d.

An itemized list of the services to be performed.
