§ 26-434. Louisiana State Plumbing Code adopted.

  • Part XIV (Plumbing) of the Louisiana State Sanitary Code, being the Louisiana State Plumbing Code, 2013 Edition, is hereby adopted by reference, including Chapter 1 as amended by Exhibit 6 attached hereto and incorporated herein and subject to the following additions and modifications, to wit:

    A.

    A minimum of 3/8 -inch thick manufactured type thermal insulation shall be required on all water lines located in exterior walls or in unheated spaces such as attics and under buildings on piers.

    B.

    Automatic pump equipment shall not pump directly into any community sewer system. Wastewater from pumps and ejectors shall be pumped into a sump pit or receptor where waste borne materials can be discharged to the community sewer system by gravity flow. Construction of any sump pit or a receptor shall comply with LAC51:PARTXIV.731 of the Louisiana State Plumbing Code, 2013 Edition.

    C.

    PVC piping and fittings for underground water service shall be not less than Schedule 40 piping.

    Exhibit 6

    Chapter 1 of the Louisiana State Plumbing Code, 2013 Edition, is hereby amended by adding thereto a new Section 101.5, the text of which reads as follows:

    101.5 Amendments. The provisions of this Chapter 1 may be amended from time to time by the Director of the Planning, Zoning & Development Department by written instrument setting forth such amendment and signed by the Director of the Planning, Zoning & Development Department of the Lafayette City-Parish Consolidated Government.
