§ 98-133. Insurance.

  • (a)

    All wrecker operators must comply with the insurance requirements set forth for wrecker operators by the Louisiana Department of Safety and Corrections in Louisiana Administrative Code title 55, chapter 19, as amended from time to time. The city-parish consolidated government, its officials and employees, shall be named as additional insureds on all required insurance policies. Insurance policies issued to wrecker operators must certify insurance coverage written by an insurance company licensed to do business in this state with coverage as required in this section.

    (b)

    All insurance required under the provisions of Louisiana Administrative Code title 55, chapter 19, as amended from time to time, and this section shall be on an "occurrence" basis.

    (c)

    Insurance companies providing coverage to wrecker operators shall submit current certificates of insurance to the city-parish consolidated government, through its risk management division, which certificates shall contain the following statement and/or language:

    "The insurance covered by this certificate shall not be canceled or materially altered except after ten days prior written notice of such cancellation or alteration has been sent to the city-parish consolidated government by certified mail, return receipt requested."

    Such insurance certificates shall be on forms deemed acceptable to the city-parish consolidated government, through its risk management division, and shall be submitted on an annual basis.
