§ 2-139. Executive director.

  • The convention and visitors commission shall be empowered to employ and terminate the employment of an executive director to carry out the functions, operations and purposes of the commission. It shall delegate to the executive director all authority and responsibilities necessary to properly administer the business of the commission within the policy set by the commission and subject to its review. The executive director shall be chief administrative officer of the commission. He shall have full charge of the commission's offices and employees. He shall be responsible for the official correspondence, maintaining the official records, and supervising the keeping of books of accounts, and shall provide professional leadership for the commissioners and staff concerning the effective and efficient operation of the commission. He shall have the responsibility for the employment and training of a commission staff. He shall have such further duties and responsibilities as may be assigned to him from time to time by the commission.
